Dear Ms Welker,
I have been reading Island Of The Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell. My prediction for the next few chapters is that she is going to go to a new land. I think this because based on the other chapters there is a boat that is going to take them to the land where kimki the chief is.
My prediction was wrong. Karana jumped from the boat because her brother was left behind when he went to get his fishing spear. So after I read I thought that karana did a good thing and that she will be very good with her brother. I have a connection to what I read. My connection is that karana had to drop her yucca fiber skirt for her brother when she was swimming to shore. So when my sister was sick I had to go home during my favorite subject science. Also I had a question. What are abalones? Then I went on answers.com and I found out that it is a mollusk and it feeds on algae. Then I had another question. Why did the wild dogs eat ramo. Unfortunately I tried to find the answer but I couldn't find it. So as you can see this is a hard situation for Karana and I hope she can get through it. I meant since her brother ramo got killed. I feel really sorry about that.

Ana,
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I have a question for you. Why do you think the wild dogs eat Ramo? Even if you can't find the answer in your book you can make an inference. Also, I didn't know Ramo was her brother until the second to last sentence. You could have said something like "Why did the wild dogs eat Karana's brother Ramo?" Then I would have known right away!
