Dear Ms. Welker,

Blogging has been a very good opportunity. Blogging has taught me a lot about computers and it was very beneficial. It has helped me be more relaxed and my hands won’t hurt so much. It has been way more fun to blog than to do a home reading sheet. I love typing so this wasn’t boring.                                                             Well, blogging has also been a little hard. Once when I was blogging, I tried to publish and it deleted everything I did. I was so mad. Another thing is that you need to figure out all these keys and stuff. It can be difficult. If you don’t do the keys right you could end up not getting to do your homework.

So my thoughts about blogging are pretty good. I thought blogging was fun and that it would be nice to do it again. Also blogging has been the best way to do home reading to me. I really have been learning a lot and I can use my blog to post stuff about my summer vacation. Then you and other people from the class can see.  Although Blogging can be fun it is also very challenging and hard. So to conclude blogging is fun but hard and it is a good way for parents to see what we are doing.

                     Sincerely,

                     Ana I.

Penny from heaven The song #1

Dear Ms. Welker,

I’m reading Penny from Heaven by Jennifer L. Holm. I think this book is about a girl who is a very special gift to the parents. I think this because of the title. It makes me think that something is special.

My prediction was wrong! It wasn’t about a girl who is very special to the parents. It was about a girl named penny, which’s father died and her mom started dating the milkman. She thought her life was miserable.  I had trouble with a word when I read this.  The word is chrome. I read around and read on and inferred that it was like the rims of a car.  So Penny’s cousin Frankie says he wants to be criminal like his dad. I think that’s a bad idea. Also I had a question when I read.  Why did Frankie want to be a criminal? When I read around I found out that he thought it would be cool. That is a bad idea.  Penny’s mother didn’t tell penny that she was dating the milkman. Penny then saw her one-day in a lemon yellow strapless dress. She asked her where she was going. Then she said Mr. Mulligan asked her out. Also I had a question. My question is that why did penny’s mother didn’t tell her that she was dating the milkman?  It took me a while to find the answer to that question but I finally found it. The answer is that she was afraid that penny would get mad. I would be mad too if I was in that situation. So to conclude Penny is so miserable and she wishes it would be better.                                                                                                             Sincerely,

                                                            Ana I.

Royal Little princess#3

Dear Ms. Welker,
I am starting chapter 9 in my book. My prediction is that Molly’s old cat, Mr. Tibbs will escape from Leslie and Toby, and go to Molly. I think this because of the title of chapter 9. The title of chapter 9 is “Mr. Tibbs escapes again”. Also I had a question before I read. My question is that how did Mr. Tibbs escape? When I read, I found the answer to my question. The answer is that Mr. Tibbs escaped from an opening in Leslie’s attic. By the way, Leslie is the person who is looking for molly.
My prediction was right! Mr. Tibbs did escape and went to Molly. Molly was so sad because Ms. Thacker called her in to her office that day and, she showed her a lady that worked with foster care. She told her that she would have to go to foster care. When it was finished, she went up to her room and cried. She didn’t want to go to foster care and she wanted to stay with her friends. I also had a question. Why didn’t molly just ask her friends to ask their parents if she could stay with them? I read around and found out the answer. She didn’t want her friends to bring someone their parents didn’t know and, she didn’t want to barge in when they had problems of their own. I still can’t believe Ms. Thacker would do that. She is so mean! The day after Mr. Tibbs escaped, he found molly in the attic that she lived in. When molly saw Mr. Tibbs she was so glad to see him. Along the way I had trouble with the word terminated. I tried to read around and read on but I couldn’t find the answer so I went to answers.com and it meant to come to an end. Molly knew where he lived so she took him back. She didn’t know that where Mr. Tibbs lived was where Leslie lived. When she got there, she gave the cat back. She saw him play with the editing the machines. I had a question when I read this part. How does she know what editing machines are? When I read on I found out that the answer is her father worked with them. Leslie then figured out that she was the one she was looking for and that she found her. Ms. Thacker came over and she wanted to take her but she couldn’t. Then molly stayed with Leslie and that was the end of my book. So to conclude this book was really good and Molly got a happily ever after.
Sincerely,
Ana I.

Royal Little princess#2

Dear Ms Welker,

I’m reading a little princess by Gabrielle Charbonnet. I am on chapter 5 in my book. My prediction is that Molly is going to have a really bad day and that she is going to get so mad and she will start working harder. I think this, because of the title of the chapter that I am starting. The title of the chapter is “the worst day”.

In the last blog I said that Molly ran away, well in this blog it will be about after spring fling and what Ms. Thacker is going to do with Molly. Anyhow, my prediction was right! Molly did have a hard day. Molly looked so bad that people gave her money, because she looked homeless. I wish I could get money as quickly as Molly did. Also I had a thought. My thought is it was really nice of molly to give that homeless person with a baby that food. I had a question after this thought. My question is why did molly give the homeless person that food? When I read on, I found out that she felt sorry for that person and that she could eat dinner with her friends. I think that’s a smart thing to do. Also I had trouble with a word gritty. I read around and inferred that it meant like the stuff on your eyes when you wake up. That‘s really gross!!! The next day Molly’s room was remodeled. I had a question later on. My question was that who was this person doing this and, why are they doing it. When I read around, I found out it was these people who were looking for her. They didn’t know it was the girl they were looking for. The person who remodeled molly’s room gave her a gift certificate for gap. That’s a really nice thing to do. So to conclude I think molly might actually make it, because of all the stuff her secret friend gave her.
Sincerely
Ana I.

Royal Little princess#1

Dear Ms Welker,

I'm Reading a book called Little Princess. I'm going to read and do a post every 4 chapters. So, my prediction is that this book is about a girl who is like a princess. I think this because of the title and the cover page picture.
My prediction was right! It was about a girl who was treated like a princess. Her name is Molly. Her father died and now she has to live like a charity student in Glenmore, which is her school. I feel very sad for molly.
When I read I had trouble with the word lulled. I read around and found the answer; well I kind of inferred it. It meant to be pushed around or kind of pulled.
Molly was so sick of Glenmore because of the principal, Ms Thacker; she was being really unreasonably mean with her. So, she tried to run away. I would do that too if I were her. I also had a question: why did she think that run away was a good idea and then after she did it, she change her mind and thought that run away was a bad idea. Well, when I read on I found out that she thought her life will be easy, but later on she found that it was harder.
There is this thing called the spring fling in Glenmore and Ms Thacker said molly had to wear a dress or a skirt. She knew that molly didn't have any of those things. I think that was really mean. Then I had trouble with the word nonchalant. I tried to read around but that didn't work, so I went on answers.com and it meant a careless manner. So, to conclude molly is having a really hard time and she needs all the help she can get because Ms Thacker will make her life miserable for ever.
Sincerely,
Ana I.

Too Many Pumpkins/ Literally#1

Dear Ms Welker,
I'm reading a book called too many pumpkins by Linda White. I predict that this book will be about a Woman who planted too many pumpkins. I predict this because of the picture on the title page.

My Prediction was right and wrong yes it was about growing too many pumpkins but she didn't plant them a pumpkin truck came by and a pumpkin fell. In fact she actually hated pumpkins and she didn't want pumpkins. So when I read I came across a hard word. The hard word was rutabagas I tried to read around but there was no clues so I went on answers.com and found out that it meant an edible root of this plant that I don't know. So when I read a part I thought that you shouldn't hate something just because you didn't have anything else. I also had a question. My question is that why did she just leave the the pumpkins and expect them to not grow? Then I read on and found out that There were tons of pumpkins because she just left them there and I found the answer to my question. The answer is that she tought that if she didn't tend them and water them they would die . So to conclude what I read ythe woman learned a lesson. The lesson was that she shouldn't hate something because she had too much of something( Also she kept seeds for the next year).

Sincerely,

Ana I .

Prehistoric times #1

Dear Ms. Welker,
I'm reading Prehistoric Worlds. I predict that this book is going to be about back in time and dinosaurs. I think this because the Dinos were alive in the prehistoric times. Also I think That prehistoric times are really cool.
My prediction was right but it was also about rocks and minerals.  So after I read I had trouble with the word Galena. Then I read on and found out it is an ore mineral that is found in lead. Also my favorite type of rock is Igneous. I like it because I like crystals and igneous contains crystals some times so that is why I like igneous. When I read more I had a question. My question is What are the the inner layers? I did study rocks in school but we didn't talk about the inner layers. So I read around and found out that there are four layers. the four layers are the crust, mantle, outer core, inner core. I really like learning about the earth its so cool. So I also had a connection sort of. Well I watched a movie called Journey To The Center Of The Earth and they found the center which is the inner core and in this book they are talking about the inner core. So when I read the dinosaur part I thought about the ride Jurassic park in universal. The dinosaurs actually kind of scare me a little bit. My favorite dinosaur is the triceratops. My most hated dinosaur is the tyrannosaurus rex. I really don't like it because they are meat eaters and can even eat people and I like the triceratops because it is a plant eater and doesn't eat people unlike the tyrannosaurus rex ( I think my dad like the tyrannosaurus rex and I don't get why). So to conclude on what I read read the prehistoric times were really cool and when arceologists dig up things from the past we can learn more about the prehistoric times.
